Happy New Year Friends!!! I hope 2018 brings so much happiness and love into your life! I have learned a lot about myself this past year, and something I have realized is how much what I surround myself with directly influences me. I have a wall in my room filled with signs and sayings of things that motivate me or just make me smile, and when I walk past it each day, it is an instant reminder to be the best I can be. They remind me to smile, and be a source of light in a world that can sometimes seem so dark.
I have always been infatuated with inspiration boards, but have never really created them. I loved the idea, but thought that they took too much time and weren’t practical to create often. Since this is the start of the new year, I have created my version of an inspiration board, and plan to update it on the first of every month to reflect goals, aspirations, or just images that make me happy.
I received this hanging, heart cork board for Valentines day, and I had a few quotes and some pictures on it, but I think this provides the perfect base for my inspiration board. I wanted to keep it very simple so that it was easy to alter each month. I cut images out of magazines and found a quote out of a book that I placed together and hung on this cork board. When I see it, I smile. Continue reading “new year // new project”
So although it has felt like winter for quite some time, today it is official! Happy wintertime, friends! A new season means new seasonal shoes to share!
This winter, my shoes are two of my favorites, that you’ve probably already seen several times because I couldn’t wait until the first day of winter to wear them.
Over-the-knee boots have been quite a trend lately, and I have loved every bit of it. I found these really chic olive green OTK boots on sale during Black Friday and I couldn’t resist. They’re the perfect color because although the green can be used as a statement, it can also be worn as a neutral, since it pairs well with almost every color. My favorite way to wear these boots is with leggings and a loose sweater paired with a hat. This outfit is beyond comfortable, but it looks so put together, so obviously it’s my go-to. OTK boots

Homemade treats are a must during the holidays. It’s even better when they’re super tasty but incredibly easy to make. I found this simple recipe for making peppermint Oreos and figured I’d share its goodness with everyone.
The only things needed for this treat are: four candy canes, white chocolate morsels, and one package of Oreos.
Start out by placing the candy canes into a large plastic bag and crushing them with either a rolling pin or a similar utensil. Continue reading “Christmas treat // peppermint oreos”
Since Christmas is now only 12 days away, it’s the perfect time to share my favorite stocking stuffers! These goodies could also be used as the perfect last minute gift if you got a couple of the items and placed them in a basket or box (or threw them in a bag if you’re that last second).
These are a bunch of items that I think would be the perfect stoking stuffers for any girl in your life. They work for basically any age- from teenagers to grandmas. I have linked all of the items so that they can be easily accessed and you can tuck them under the tree, or in the stocking, ASAP.

I updated the layout of my blog and it no longer has the space for a “get to know me” section, so I decided to dedicate this post to just that!
So here it goes…
Basic stuff: 20-year old college student at the University of Florida, studying Family, Youth, and Community Science with a minor in Nonprofits and Organizational Leadership, from Las Vegas, NV (yes, people live there)
Fashion stuff: hoards shoes and owns way too many pairs (but loves every single pair too much to part ways), has a simple style but loves unique pieces, searches down bargains and basically only buys things if they are on sale
